about

"Combining musical idioms, instruments, scales from the western world and from the wider area of the eastern Mediterranean, these compositions seek to express a personal aesthetic perception of traditional music. With the main source of inspiration being the landscapes of southern Crete and influences from Cretan, post-Byzantine, Turkish and Armenian musical tradition, the aim is to render a special - modern Mediterranean sound, which is multicultural as this specific area has always been."
